The Sartiglia is a race for the ring, of medieval origin (1358), which happens on the last Sunday and Tuesday of the Carnival in Oristano. It is one of the most spectacular and choreographed kinds of Carnival in Sardinia. Hazy memories of duels and the Crusades, Spanish colors, echoes of fallen nobility and agricultural/pastoral costumes.Many people participate in the parades, including women and children.
