Puerto del Carmen: sea and fun in Lanzarote

In the middle of a tour that will bring us to the discovery of the islands of the archipelago of Canary, we disembark in Lanzarote, precisely in Puerto del Carmen, one of the most touristically organized centers along the southeastern coast of the island. The short distance from the airport of Lanzarote (barely 5 km away) and the presence of a convenient tourist port, makes Puerto del Carmen an easly reachable resort and convenient in terms of services and transport thanks to links with public transport means and the opportunity to rent a car or bike to move around comfortably as you need.

Known 50 years ago by the name Puerto de Tiñosa, when it was still a village of fishermen, Puerto del Carmen is now a nice coastal town in the territory of Tías which is divided into a newer and more commercial area (where you will find hotels in Puerto del Carmen, restaurants, shops, clubs and pubs) and an old area (plenty of characteristic buildings, formerly inhabited by fishermen and pubs which feature nice panoramic terraces). Puerto del Carmen has all what it takes for a beach holiday that can alternate worldliness and fun with relaxation and desire to enjoy the sun and the constantly warm and pleasant climate simply lying on the beach. 6 kilometers of shore embrace Puerto del Carmen, along which enormous and sandy beaches stretch out (among which Playa Blanca or Playa Grande, Matagorda and Los Pocillos stand out) along with rocky areas, perfect for scuba diving. If you don’t want to miss the fun, shopping and nightlife, you should choose among theme parks (like the Rancho Texas Park), the casino, several malls and a lot of pubs for all ages, with the desire to dance and have fun.
